Title: Driver I
Location: CaliforniaJob Summary and Mission Operate vehicle to transport cargo to and from specified destinations (customer location, airline or trucking terminals) in a safe and efficient manner. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values. Summary of Key Responsibilities Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Operate vehicle to transport materials to and from specified destinations in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with State, Federal and DOT laws
*
Responsible for the protection of company equipment and freight from damage, theft, or tampering
*
Load freight onto the truck by hand and use of dolly, utilizing load locks, straps, covers, etc. to ensure that freight will be delivered in good condition at final destination
*
Unload freight from truck utilizing proper equipment and securing for transit when necessary
*
Check cargo and unit to ensure it is properly secured and safe
*
Verify that cargo is correct and in good condition
*
Check delivery documentation for accuracy
*
Report all delays due to weather conditions, breakdowns, accidents, or any other types of emergencies promptly
*
Report immediately any irregularities related to the pick-up and/or delivery of the cargo (cargo damage, shortage, customer complaints, customer requests)
*
Assist in warehouse if driving is not required or between runs
*
Complies with all Transportation Security Administration security requirements
*
Develop and maintain excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times
*
Act as messenger for Company
*
Presents self in a clean and professional manner at all times
*
Adhere to all Company's policies and procedures related to drivers Summary of Experience and Education
*
High school diploma or GED required.
*
Minimum three years industry driving experience may be substituted for a High School Diploma or GED.
*
Minimum six months related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
*
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
*
Ability to operate dolly, forklift, hand trucks and pallet jacks on a daily basis.
*
Ability to read and interpret maps.
*
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
*
Respond promptly and professionally to customer needs.
*
Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
*
Ability to understand highway traffic signs and signals.
*
Ability to read, comprehend and complete basic checklists, forms or other related documents.
*
Effectively present information in one-on-one or in small group situations.
*
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
*
Balances team and individual responsibilities.
*
Consistently at work and on time.
Licenses and Certifications
*
Valid state issued Class C Driver's License issued by the driver's home state of residence.

Acceptable driving record as defined by DOT regulations, TSA regulations and Company policy |
