Candidates must have their Ph.D. in clinical or counseling psychology, have clinical addictions experience, be eligible for licensure in the state of Minnesota and be board-certified/board-eligible through the American Board of Professional Psychology. A background or potential for NIH grant funding is crucial to success in this position. The Mayo Clinic Addiction Services is a dynamic, multispecialty team providing expert consultation and treatment for a range of addictions and offers patients several levels of care. The Mayo Clinic has continuously provided primary addiction treatment for 45 years with a practice model incorporating advances in the neuroscience of addiction and treatment of co-morbid psychiatric and psychologic problems. The corresponding clinical and basic science research programs are robust with clinical trials, brain imaging, and genomic alcohol and nicotine research funded by NIH and other extramural sources. The successful candidate will contribute to expert clinical consultation, staff training and supervision, and program development. The candidate will initially have three years of 50% protected research time to pursue innovative alcohol and nicotine research.
