Job Posting Number: 7239BR Job Posting Title: Data Management Analyst Work Site: MN - Rochester Building: 100 First Avenue Building Department: MCHS AdministrationJob Description: Responsible for planning and executing monthly updates to the Decision Support System (DSS) database and liasing with the HCA Reporting Analysts, IT programmers, and MCHS Business Analysts to assure that the DSS system accurately reflects operations of Mayo Clinic Health Solutions reporting clients. Activities under the scope of responsibility include leading projects to create or change data extract processes, developing analytic techniques to assess data quality, and overseeing activities performed by data management vendors to assure accurate and timely execution of contracted activities. Creates reports and data extracts in response to ad-hoc report requests as needed. Assists other departments in designing, preparing and analyzing reports. Assists with special projects as assigned by the Manager of Healthcare Analytics Reporting Systems. (006120) Basic Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree in finance, information systems, or health care related field. Minimum one to five years experience with insurance claims information, including familiarity with ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding, and/or provider billing. Also requires competency in the structured query language (SQL) and one or more data reporting/analysis software package (e.g., MS Access, Crystal Reports, SAS). . Other Qualifications: Experience with reporting/analyzing healthcare data. Requires strong communication, analytic and problem-solving skills; should be very detail oriented. Must be a team player, willing to assist above normal workload at key times. Good PC skills, including Microsoft Office or similar packages.
