Job Posting Number: 7830BR Job Posting Title: Senior Engineer II SPPDG Job Posting Category: Engineering/Architecture Research Work Site: MN - Rochester Building: Mayo Support Center North Department: Special Purpose Processor Development GroupJob Description: The Mayo Clinic Special Purpose Processor Development Group (SPPDG) is in need of a Senior Engineer to perform design and analysis of elements of complex High Performance Computing (HPC) systems, and to lead projects in this field. The SPPDG is an electronics technology research group dedicated to developing next generation electronics technology for high-speed signal processor applications. Our primary mission is the development of advanced technology for high clock rate digital signal processors and wide bandwidth, high center frequency analog systems. The SPPDG is equipped with a full suite of CAD and simulation tools, a high performance test facility, and a class 100 microelectronics assembly clean room. The Senior Engineer II will perform highly complex microelectronic engineering functions which may include theoretical development, conceptualization, design, implementation, simulation, software design, assembly, test or analysis. Must possess significant experience in signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), package design/analysis, and/or system design/analysis. Serves as project point of contact (POC), which requires use of project management principles and tools to manage current projects and develop new projects. The POC is responsible for setting project goals, managing expectations and budgets, and leading project teams of engineers and technicians, acting independently on multiple projects. Participates in design reviews of own and other projects. Interfaces with other team members, collaborators, and government contacts. The candidate must exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills. Works under minimal supervision on multiple projects, and provides input for new projects.
