| Principal Electrical Engineer Location: US-AZ -Glendale Classification: Engineering Required Education: Bachelor / Diploma Required Travel: Not Applicable Client: Fortune 500 Client Position Type: Contract Start Date: Immediate Duration: 9 Months Description Principal Electrical Engineer, Glendale, AZ In the role of Principal Engineer, primary responsibility will be to work with a team of test systems design engineers (HW and SW) and technicians in the development of product test equipment and perform product test integration. This position requires ability to establish and maintain a close professional relationship with our product line customers. The candidate must be able to resolve difficult hardware and software test solution issues. The candidate will work with a group of highly skilled engineers in the development of test solutions that will be deployed for internal or customer use. The individual must have excellent interpersonal skills to work in a small team atmosphere. Current need is to support test solution development and deployment for the Human Space/ Satellite Avionics and Mechanical Space products. Anticipate problems, recognize and eliminate barriers. Demonstrate ability to plan and organize complex technical projects. Understand technology and management concepts required for products and processes. Position requires good people skills and the ability to work effectively with other organizations and individuals at all levels. A positive, can-do attitude is required. Must work well as a member of a team. Must adapt well to a changing environment. Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related technical field. 8+ years of experience in performing test equipment hardware design/integration Experience as an ATE/Test Engineer designing, implementing and integrating test solutions for avionic/mechanical/space products Must have superior written and verbal communication skills to work with product engineering, manufacturing, and customer support groups Experience with hardware/software integration Experience in troubleshooting test equipment problems Experience in TestStand, LabWindows CVI, LabVIEW, scripting languages, and C programming language is a plus Experience with common communication and test instrumentation busses such as LXI, RS-232, RS-422, PXI, VXI, IEEE-488 (GPIB), LXI, etc. Experience designing rack and stack Automatic Test Equipment Experience designing product test adapters, product interface CCA's, cables, breakout boxes, UUT holding fixtures, etc. Experience using DxDesigner/AutoCad or similar software desirable System engineering and requirements management skills are a plus. Familiarity with project management concepts and Defense and Space project management skills are a plus.
