JOB SUMMARY Proactively solicit delinquent customers in an effort to determine the collectability and/or cash flow potential of the customer. Negotiates high risk, 90+ delinquent loans adhering to stated timelines and regulatory requirements through a web-based application. Responsible for managing and facilitating resolution of complex consumer loans that may be distressed. Frequently works accounts in active foreclosure with significant risk and highly sensitive timelines. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Contact customers to pursue workout or other default resolution options using a web-based application to gather data regarding the customer's financial status.
Implement resolution of identified problems, including Repayment agreements, Loan Modifications, Short Pay Offs and Deeds in Lieu of Foreclosure.
Determine a preferred strategy to resolve the delinquency and improve cash flow while working closely with other agents and manager to achieve corporate initiatives and incentives.
Make recommendations to management for approval or denial of loan resolution strategy as necessary. Many decisions will be made by the individual on their own and based upon the decision tree available on the web.
Act as internal contact with Collection, Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, Investor Reporting and Compliance departments.
Act as external contact with Servicing, Foreclosure Counsel and Mortgage Insurance companies.
Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job. SKILLS Advanced verbal and written communication skills; significant knowledge of mortgage servicing systems and applications, investor guidelines, mortgage insurance guidelines and loan workout strategies. Significant knowledge of bankruptcy, foreclosure, and equity loans required.
Intermediate PC Microsoft Office skills. Thorough knowledge of federal and state laws and compliance requirements related to loan servicing. Ability to maintain professional independence while working closely with business units. Needs to be creative in seeking optimum solution to a problem and extensive knowledge of the mortgage loan servicing policies and procedures. Must possess strong analytical/critical thinking skills and have the ability to suggest ways to minimize compliance risk; and the ability to priorit |
