Nurse, Employee Health / Infection Control Job in New Prague (Minnesota, USA, United States)

Job Description:

Facilitate the design, implementation and evaluation of effective programs for control of epidemiologically significant infection trends or events.
Design and implement surveillance systems to identify infection risks and trends.
Create opportunities to teach infection prevention information to staff, physicians, patients and the community.
Oversees and monitors the Workers Compensation process implementing and assuring return to work plan.
Assists employees with general health issues and concern.
Acts as a liaison between employee, manager and healthcare provider.
Maintains OSHA 200 log.
Assures compliance with OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standard.
Coordinates Respiratory Protection Program, OSHA TB Standard.
Coordinates immunization clinical as necessary.
Assists in establishing physical demands for new and existing positions.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Master's degree in Epidemiology or Public Health preferred. 3-5 years of experience in an acute care setting required. Experience with worker's compensation and infection control preferred.

Other Qualifications:

Knowledge of an ability with quality improvement and statistical methods desirable. Competence with Microsoft OFfice products. Ability to interact with all ages of the patient population. Ability to effectively influence behavior of employees as it relates to infection control and employee health.

License or Certification: Current Registered Nursing (RN) license in the state of Minnesota required
