| Position Summary: The Flight Safety Coop reports to the Manager, Flight Safety Voluntary Programs and is responsible for assisting and supporting the operation and maintenance of the JetBlue ASAP (Aviation Safety Action Program), FOQA (Flight Operational Quality Assurance), and Wildlife programs. Support includes assisting in the analysis of multiple sources of data for relevant trends, conducting daily administrative duties in support of above programs and other tasks as assigned. The Coop will be exposed to all areas of airline operations, safety program management (with strong emphasis in, but not limited to Flight Safety), and voluntary safety program concepts (e.g. ASAP, FOQA, IEP, SMS). Essential Functions: * Imports, manages, categorizes and responds to flight related safety reports submitted via JEMS (JetBlue Event Management System) * Performs notifications of notable flight events and enters them into a database for trending purposes * Conducts initial risk assessment of safety events * Gathers information regarding events to include conducting minor Crew interviews and investigative assessments * Conducts basic data analysis so as to assist in identifying relevant trends * Assists in the communication efforts and promotion of the Safety Department to front line Crewmembers * Administrative functions in support of safety programs * Assists in other projects and tasks as assigned * Exposure to various departments within JetBlue in order to broaden their aviation and JetBlue experience * Other tasks as assigned by Crew Leader Interactions: Supervision Received: Receives clear, detailed, and specific instructions and consults with Crewleader/Teamleader on all matters outside the scope of daily responsibilities/activities Supervisory Duties: No supervisory responsibility Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office especially Excel and Power Point; Access/database knowledge preferr |
