The function of a Naval Architect Engineer is to manage, provide technical guidance and supervise all resources assigned to her/him by the Engineering Hull Manager, and as mutually deemed appropriate to support the projects to which he/she is assigned. In fulfilling this function he/she is to assist the Project Engineer in determining the technical requirements of the project in the discipline of Naval Architecture. He/she is to assist the Project Engineer in defining the manpower requirements needed to meet the naval architecture design portions of the project schedule commitments and must be able to schedule the required manpower so as to meet the manufacturing production requirements. He/she is to assist the Program Manager/Project Engineer in resolving technical compliance issues as they arise. The Naval Architect Engineer must fulfill a dual reporting mechanism if necessary reporting functionally to the Engineering Hull Manager whereby she/he will be held accountable for project budget and schedule compliance; and performing project related activities while supporting the Project Engineer.

Candidates will need an understanding of the Ships Distributive Systems #HVAC, Piping, Electrical, etc# to be able to facilitate the integration of these systems in the overall ship design. A fundamental understanding of the Naval Architecture with practical experience in Stability and Weights is essential.

Eligible applicants must have a minimum a BSE in Naval Architecture plus a minimum of 10 years of ship design experience, or exhibit 15 years of Naval Architecture experience associated with ship design and a high school diploma.
