The nurse manager plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the operational, fiscal, and personnel activities within defined areas of practice to ensure the provision of quality patient care 24 hours a day. The nurse manager advocates for and allocates available resources to promote efficient, effective, safe, and compassionate nursing care based on current standards of practice. The nurse manager promotes shared decision making on the unit level. The nurse manager acts as a resource and facilitates collaboration between nursing personnel and other health care disciplines throughout the organization and within the healthcare community. The nurse manager contributes to the strategic planning process, and attainment of goals of the organization. Basic Qualifications: Master's degree in Nursing or a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with a Master’s degree in business or a health-related field. Will consider applicants meeting all other qualifications who commit to degree completion within six months from application date. Minimum of three to five years of nursing practice experience. Maintains Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) competency. Any additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area. Other Qualifications: A minimum of two years of hospital-related experience as a registered nurse, within past five years. Surgical Nursing and Nursing Leadership experience preferred. License or Certification: Current Minnesota RN license or current license deemed acceptable by the Minnesota State Board of Nursing.
