Responsibilities include: providing, along with the rest of the career and professional development team, individual and group counseling services to the entire LL.M. student body on job search strategies; researching and organizing materials on employment opportunities for the LL.M. students; developing marketing and outreach programs, including marketing materials, to increase awareness among potential employers about Georgetown University Law Center's Graduate Programs and the LL.M. students; assisting the career and professional development team with workshops, job fairs, interview programs, new initiatives and any career-related activities geared for the LL.M. population; creating and publishing the weekly newsletter for the LL.M. population; and updating and developing materials for career and professional development website (as well as the Office of Graduate Programs resource library). Knowledge of legal resume and cover letter formats; knowledge of methods and procedures for seeking professional legal employment, and of legal employers and their hiring needs. Also require excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrated by strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills, and the ability to make presentations and to communicate with students on a one-to-one basis, helping them identify their professional and personal strengths, skills and abilities needed for a successful job search. Demonstrated ability in computer and other office equipment; understanding of career services databases and on-line resources; attention to detail and organized; ability to work independently and exercise good judgment, and to work on multiple tasks; and the ability to create marketing pieces.
