| Assist and counsel hospice patients and families with health related financial, social and emotional concerns according to the physician's orders. Requirements 1. Has a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and 2. Has one year of social work experience in a health care setting or 3. Has a baccalaureate degree from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, is employed by the hospice before December 2, 2008, and is not required to be supervised by an MSW. 4. Knowledge of psychosocial, emotional and spiritual needs of terminally ill patients and their caregivers. 5. Must be familiar with general use and functions of the computer, such as, user names and password concepts; internet; e-mail; navigation of computer desktop, including starting programs, using files, and windows, effectively use navigation buttons and tool bars; ability to self-manage online HR services and online training programs. State Specific-QUALIFICATIONS -Alabama State Specific: Must be licensed by Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners as a Licensed Certified Social Worker in accordance with Title 34, Chapter 30, Section 22. -Alaska State Specific: Regulation AS 08.95 : (a) A person who practices clinical social work without obtaining a license under this chapter to practice clinical social work is guilty of a class B misdemeanor unless the person is (1) licensed under a provision of this title that is outside this chapter, is practicing within the scope of that license, and is not representing to the public by title or description of service as being engaged in the practice of clinical social work; or (2) practicing clinical social work as a student in a social work program approved by the board. -Arkansas State Specific: Must be licensed by State of Arkansas, Social Work Licensing Board as a License Master Social Worker or Licensed Certified Master Social Worker in accordance with Social Work Licensing Act. -Iowa State Specific: All levels of Master Prepared Social Workers must be licensed even if the social worker is not practicing clinical social work. 154C.2 LICENSE REQUIRED -- EXCEPTION -- USE OF TITLE. 1. A person shall not engage in the practice of social work unless the person is licensed pursuant to this chapter. A person who is not licensed pursuant to this chapter shall not use words or titles which imply or represent that the person is a licensed bachelor social worker, licensed master social worker, or licensed independent social worker. 2. Notwithstanding subsection 1, persons trained as bachelor social workers, or employed as bachelor social workers, are not required to be licensed. 3. Section 147.83 does not apply to persons who are not licensed as bachelor |
