| The Registered Nurse is responsible for the coordination of patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The Registered Nurse is responsible for prescribing, delegating and evaluating the holistic nursing care rendered. As a professional, the Registered Nurse contributes to the smooth operation of the nursing unit and for the development of self and others by being a role model and providing leadership. The Registered Nurse applies and implements the philosophy goals and objectives of Gateway Medical Center promoting good public relations while maintaining patient/customer confidentiality and satisfaction. The Intensive Care Registered Nurse is responsible for managing the care of adult patients experiencing life-threatening problems requiring complex assessment, high intensity therapies and intervention, and continuous nursing vigilance. Qualifications REQUIRED: Current licensed in state of Tennessee or compact state as Registered Nurse, in good standing Current BLS Current ACLS certification or obtained within 90 days of employment. PREFERRED: Prior experience in specialty area. If new graduate, evidence of recent preceptorship and/or clinical in a critical care setting within last year. Professional certification, including but not limited to CCRN. Analytical skills necessary to prepare patient plan of care, implement effective nursing care and develop solution to problems concerning patient's mental and physical well-being. Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to address issues in tactful and timely manner to patients, families and hospital personnel BASIC PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Attention to detail and concentration Ability to work in fast-paced, ever-changing environment |
