Title: Electronics Engineer Location: CA-Palo Alto PDS is seeking an Electronics Engineer for an open position in Palo Alto, CA.This position will be responsible for the updated Geostationary Lightning Mapper electronics design at the board, subsystem, and system level. The engineer will be required to perform high-level conceptual design, subsystem, and system design, taking into account inputs from mechanical, EMI/EMC, thermal, and worst-case analysis subject matter experts. The engineer must be familiar with LM flight electronics design command media and requirements specific to NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. The position requires an experienced, high-speed (sub-microwave and some microwave) analog circuit design engineer able to design and analyze high-speed, low noise analog circuits. The applicant must have schematic development and maintenance experience as well as analysis and simulation experience using industry-standard SPICE-based software tools. The engineer must have experience with printed circuit board layout for low electromagnetic emissions and susceptibility. Emphasis is on the elimination or minimization of electromagnetic emissions and susceptibility through design techniques; it is mandatory that the candidate should have experience in this area. Candidate must be multifaceted and have demonstrated technical hands-on expertise in the following disciplines: flight electronics test experience (formal verification/ life cycle), electrical design and test experience with high-speed analog circuits, working knowledge of electrical circuit design and simulation tools including P-SPICE, ORCAD, and PADS. Must have experience with design verification and subsystem and system troubleshooting and debugging. The engineer will participate as a member of the instrument engineering team, support technical interchange meetings, design reviews and troubleshooting activities.
