This non-paid position entails volunteering in the Central Patient Transport department helping out in various areas including but not limited to the timely, courtous, and competent transportation of patients and their belongings throughout the WHC complex via wheelchair. Also transports specimens as designated and performs a variety of other support services functions as needed to provide service excellence to patients, visitors and hospital staff. The volunteer who will serve in this role must be professional, reliable, mature and flexible, and must be at least 16 years of age to meet the needs of this busy department. The volunteer must also be able to commit to 100 hours of service and complete 40 hours of training that will afford them the knowledge of and exposure to a patient transportation department. |
