(For Accepted CPE Students Only)Volunteers with the Department of Spiritual Care accepted in the Clinical Pastoral Education(CPE) program provide spiritual counseling and emotional support to patients, families, and staff. Visits assigned units on a regular and assesses the spiritual, emotional, and psychological resources and needs of patients, families, and staff. Volunteers will have night and weekend On-Call and Sunday morning responsibilities in addition to Monday - Friday daytime hours. Volunteers usually have one to two overnight or weekend on-call assignments throughout the program. Duties will include patient care visits, didactic sessions, individual supervision, and group learning experiences. Conducts interfaith worship services and services of baptism, blessing, marriage, and memorial. Volunteers are considered Chaplain Interns and directly report to an assigned ACPE Supervisor. The volunteer who will serve in this role must be professional, reliable, mature and flexible to meet the needs of this busy department and will gain knowledge of and exposure to a spiritual care department. |
