NP or PA General Surgery Job in Rochester (Minnesota, USA, United States)

Job Description:

The Department of Surgery is seeking Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants for positions in General Surgery. Candidates hired into this role will have the opportunity to partner with general surgeons to manage general surgery adult hospitalized patients; will work collaboratively with surgeons, residents and allied health staff. The NP or PA provides comprehensive assessment, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, diagnosis, prescription of pharmacologic agents and treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies.

The NP or PA will also provide pre- and post-operative evaluations of adult general surgical patients at St. Mary’s Hospital as needed. Current duties do not require OR responsibilities but there may be future opportunities for this. The position requires a high level of autonomy. j2wjb

Basic Qualifications:

Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and nurse practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license and certification, or eligible to be certified, as an ANP, ACNP, or FNP certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment date).

Or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by the NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice. The NP/PA must be eligible for DEA registration.

Other Qualifications:

Must be eligible for DEA registration and billing privileges. Strong written and oral communication skills are required and must have demonstrated skill in working collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team. Please submit resume and 2 letters of reference.

Schedule Details: Rotating 12 hour shifts
Compensation Detail: Salaried - Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every two weeks is approximately $3308 based on a full-time position.
