Performs electrical installation for replacement of equipment and electrical system components. The work includes installing, replacing, inspecting, testing, cleaning, preventative maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and systems. This position: • Requires the availability to work overtime as needed • Provide rotating 24/7 on-call support for electrical systems • Operate a variety of electrical and electronic test equipment. • Be flexible to changing priorities • Proper evaluation and repair of electrical equipment to quickly return to service • Capabilities to trouble shoot and solve electrical circuit problems • Performs all duties following safe electrical work practices # Basic Qualifications: A two-year technical degree or an associate degree in electrical systems, construction or similar program focused on the maintenance, installation and operation of building electrical systems and four years electrical apprenticeship training. Electrician must have 6 years of experience with power distribution, lighting, motor and electrical control concepts. Other Qualifications: Electrical maintenance experience in a health care setting preferred. Electrician must be able to troubleshoot and solve electrical circuit problems independently on energized circuits. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, organize jobs and work collaboratively with other employees is highly desirable. Understanding of safe electrical work practices. Person must be able to read and draw electric schematic drawings and have a working knowledge of the National Electric Code and applicable safety standards. Electrician must have good human relation skills. Be able to work independently on most assignments. The ability to use proper precaution to avoid potential exposure to chemical vapors, infectious agents, hazardous substances, rotating machinery, fall hazards and electrical shock hazards. Able to troubleshoot and solve technical electrical circuit problems independently on energized circuits. License or Certification: Minnesota Class A Journeyman Electricians license is required. Benefit Eligible: Yes Exemption Status: Non-Exempt Hours/Pay Period: Full Time Schedule Details: Monday-Friday, Days. Rotating on-call schedule for 24/7 coverage. Overtime to be expected. Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $21.92 per hour.
