CITB Northern Ireland are working
as ConstructionSkills - the Sector
Skills Council for Construction. CITB-ConstructionSkills is helping to provide the fully trained and skilled workforce that the UK construction industry needs if it is to thrive now and in the future.
We work in partnership with CITB Northern Ireland and the Construction Industry Council (CIC), as the Sector Skills Council for Construction. This organisation is called ConstructionSkills.

Engineering Construction Industry Training Board
With over 15 years experience and an annual expenditure budget of 18 million, the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board is dedicated in ensuring that there are sufficient, well trained and qualified people both entering the vital engineering construction industry and being retained within the sector to maintain its competiveness.
We focus on improving the skills of craft and technician personnel and supervisors working on-site, as well as the skills of office based staff such as designers and project managers. From apprenticeships for new recruits, courses for unemployed people and management training, we organise and oversee training for every level of career in the industry.

The DIY School
The DIY School construction courses and DIY courses cover Plastering, Tiling, Bricklaying, Decorating, Home Maintenance and Tool Use. The courses are specifically designed to enable our students to quickly achieve high standards of work and finish. The skills covered on each course enable you to address the most common tasks that someone new to the construction industry is likely to tackle or that the DIY enthusiast will face in a home improvement or property development project as well as day to day maintenance tasks.
