CV Sections

Getting the format right is far easier said than done. For it to be effective, your CV has to be the right length, well-balanced, presentable and enticing to read.

This sounds easy enough, but you would be surprised just how many people apply for good jobs with CVs which are far too long, cluttered, unbalanced and not structured properly.

A lot of CVs include some or  all of the following sections: Name & contact details, Profile, Work Experience, Education/Qualifications, Professional training, Memberships, Skills, Competencies, Additional personal details, Interests and References

Some people actually include more than this, and some people less. There are no hard and fast rules, and the right formula for you probably isn't the same as for the next person.
